Villa Riviera Cannes France
There are many ways you can travel to Villa Riviera
in Cannes on the French Riviera. Over the years we have tried them all!
Whether you fly to Nice and hire a car, take the train or drive down,
we've got some recommendations below, just click on the blue links to
learn more.
Flights to Nice.
The most usual way is to take a flight
to Nice ariport. There are a number of low-cost airlines such as easyjet
and Flybe, however from experience, British
Airways are pretty reliable. Nice airport is about 30mins by car
from Villa Riviera. Whichever airport you fly from click here to get
a good deal with Purple Parking.
Car Rental in Nice, Cannes.
As you come out of the airport terminal, all the major brand car rental
companies are there: Avis, Hertz, Eurocar, etc. However, the one we
like best is Sixt
Car Rental, click to get a car rental price from
them.
Train, Eurostar, TGV to Cannes and Nice.
A great way to travel is by train. They are very fast, comfortable and
you are able to walk around and stretch you legs, whilst the train
still slides through the miles. We have used Rail
Europe and also the International
Rail Programme, and both are
as good as each other.
Drive to Southern France.
When the Children were younger we did this quite a few times. Buy an
in-car DVD player, plus other gadgets from Halfords before
you go and the time will fly by. You cannot beat the P&O
Ferry crossing,
we usually have breakfast on the crossing,so were set-up for the miles
ahead. On average, it takes us about 12hrs from Calais to Cannes, including
regular stops, if you wanted to stop overnight, we've used the little
Hiltons which
were great. One year we stopped at Disneyland
Paris for a few days
on the way back and it was great, hardle off-route at all and a fun
way to extend the holiday.
Travel Insurance.
The cost is pretty low now and it's just the sensible thing to do. We
usually use American
Express Travel Insurance or the AA
Travel Insurance or even good old Tesco.
Bits.
You or the Children may want a new ipod or to download some new itunes,
or maybe some new games for the invaluable PSP.
